The following is the Infection Control Protocol for Munchkin Therapies. Your child's safety as well as the safety of the staff treating your child is of utmost importance. This plan is based on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/ and California Department of Occupational Health (Cal-OSHA) https://www.dir.ca.gov/dosh/ recommendations and requirements. Staff will be trained in CDC and Cal-OSHA requirements as well as screening verification and reporting positive exposure to appropriate health agency.
Therapy assessment and services may include a variety of options such as telehealth (online) therapy or in person (home-based and clinic-based) therapy.
Clinic Based Health/Exposure Screenings:
Staff will complete self-health/exposure screenings each day prior to reporting for work. If they have a temperature of 100.4 or more without the use of medication, they will be required to stay home until they do not have a temperature for a 24-hour period.
Clients being assessed or attending therapy sessions will complete health/exposure screenings prior to their appointment (Therapist will check for temperature at the time of appointment). If client and family member are negative to Covid-19 questions and temperature screening, therapy appointment may continue.
Screenings consist of:
Screening results:
If staff reports a fever of 100.4 or above (without medication) or appears sick or has a positive exposure reported during screening, they will immediately be sent home.
If client or family member reports a fever of 100.4 or above (without medication) or appears sick or has a positive exposure reported during screening, they will immediately be sent home.
Sanitizing Procedures:
All items used for assessments and/or therapy treatments will be sanitized (using a CDC approved sanitizer) before and after each therapy session. If unable to sanitize directly after session, items will be placed in separate area to isolate from accidental usage until able to sanitize appropriately.
Therapists will wash their hands upon arrival to clinic and before/after each assessment and/or therapy session.
Client and family member will wash their hands prior to therapy session. Hand sanitizer will be available if unable to wash.
Common surfaces used during assessments and therapy treatment will be wiped down before and after therapy sessions.
Staff will sanitize individual work areas (i.e., desk, phone, computer area) at the beginning and the end of the workday.
